HANOVER, N.H. – UVM women's lacrosse closed the books on non-conference play with a 16-5 setback at 15th-ranked Dartmouth on Wednesday afternoon. The Catamounts fall to 4-11 on the year while the Big Green improve their overall record to 9-3.

The Catamount duo of
Bailey Saneman and
Jenna Janes scored two goals apiece. Janes also handed out an assist and won four draw controls.
Elise Koehl rounded out the offensive attack with one goal.
Maddy Kuras turned away five shots and
Catherine Green recorded three saves in a relief effort.
Dartmouth had two players notch a hat trick - Michelle Yu and Kellen D'Alleva. Yu reached her trifecta on six shot attempts and D'Alleva complimented her hat trick with one assist. Kierra Sweeney and Sophia Turchetta followed with two goals each. Kiera Vrindten earned the victory and surrendered one goal in 30 minutes of action.
The Big Green rattled off a baker's dozen 13 goals in the first half before the Cats got on the board in the final minute.
Alex Bernier dished a pass from behind the net to Saneman, who made one move and lined a shot past Vrindten.
The Catamounts carried the offensive momentum in the second half and outscored the Big Green 4-3 in the final frame. Koehl added her tally two and half minutes into the second period as Janes was credited with the assist. UVM cashed in two free position opportunities for its third and fourth goal of the afternoon. Saneman struck for her 17th goal of the season at the 23:45 mark and Janes logged her 27th goal of the season at the 19:11 mark.
Janes netted the Catamounts' final goal of the afternoon near the nine-minute mark.
Vermont will host Hartford in the inaugural matchup between the two programs on Saturday (April 21). The opening draw is set for 12 p.m. The contest is UVM's annual Rally Against Cancer game presented by Otter Creek Awnings and Vermont Custom Closets. Fans are encouraged to wear pink and support the efforts being made at the University of Vermont Cancer Center.
