"I'm honored and excited for the opportunity," said MacKay. "Chesapeake is a hotbed area for lacrosse and with games being played on Navy's campus, they have an awesome fan base. I'm excited to meet the guys and get things rolling. That being said, my main focus is Vermont and continuing our season as long as we can."
MacKay is the first Catamount drafted into professional lacrosse since A.J. Masson '13 was chosen 12th overall by the NLL's Philadelphia Wings in 2013.
Assistant coach
Jake Bernhardt's brother, Jesse, is a member of the Bayhawks. Chesapeake has won five MLL Championships, most recently taking home the crown in 2012 and 2013.

Just the second Catamount to be named to the Tewaaraton Watch List (Drew Philie '13 in 2013), MacKay is fourth in the America East and 24th in the country with 3.75 points per game. He is fifth in the AE and 32nd-nationally with 2.50 goals per game.
