Trae Bell-Haynes ’18 Agrees to Deal with Germany’s Fraport Skyliners

BURLINGTON, Vt. – Two-time America East Player of the Year Trae Bell-Haynes '18 has signed a deal with the Fraport Skyliners of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) – the highest level of professional club basketball in Germany.

"I'm just really excited to continue my basketball career," Bell-Haynes said. "Frankfurt is a special city and I can't wait to get over there and start working with the team."

Bell-Haynes averaged 14.2 minutes and 5.6 points per game as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks' summer league team last month. In five games with the Bucks, the 6-2 floor general finished second on the team with a 61.5% field goal percentage and ranked fourth with a 33.3% three-point percentage.

The Toronto, Ontario native finished his UVM career with 1,629 points and climbed to No. 8 on the program's all-time scoring list. Bell-Haynes also cracked the top-five all-time with 518 career assists. He earned Associated Press (AP) Honorable Mention All-America honors as a junior and senior and became the first Catamount under John Becker to receive an invitation to the NABC Reese's College All-Star Game.

Bell-Haynes is the fourth member of the Class of 2018 to sign a professional deal overseas, joining classmates Payton Henson '18 (New Heroes Basketball Club/Dutch Basketball League), Drew Urquhart '18 (Parnu Sadam/Estonian Alexela Korvpalli Meistriliiga League), and Cam Ward '18 (Starlites Naxxar Basketball Club/Malta Basketball Association).
