BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Vermont Catamounts (1-4) dropped a non-conference contest to the Fairfield Stags (5-1) at Moulton Winder Field. Fairfield tallied three unanswered goals to take a 3-1 final on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont used quick ball movement to strike in the fourth minute off of Landon Warren's stick. Peppe Haantjes moved the ball to Claudia Cotter at the end line, who dished the ball to Warren in the penalty circle for the goal.
- The Cats dominated the majority of the first half, preventing Fairfield from getting a shot on goal for nearly 30 minutes.
- Fairfield's Emma Matlach tied the game in the 30th minute following consecutive FU penalty corners.
- Sam Giordano gave Fairfield its first lead of the game in the 41st minute on FU's fifth penalty corner of the afternoon. Danielle Profita triggered the ball into play to pick up the assist.
- Vermont had chances to tie the game throughout the second half, including a pair of penalty corners. However, Matlach sealed the game for the Stags with her second of the game in the 65th minute.
