Josie Larkins scored a game-high 13 points, all in the second half, as Vermont came from seven down in the third quarter to stun UAlbany in America East action from Patrick Gym Saturday afternoon. With the win the Catamounts improve to 5-9 overall and 1-1 in conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont started strong taking an initial lead with a 7-0 run in the opening minutes. The Catamounts defense forced six UAlbany turnovers in the opening frame and Vermont led 12-8 after the first quarter.
- In the second quarter both teams' defenses came to play. Vermont was 0-for-8 from the field and Albany was just 4-for18 as they took a 16-12 lead into the half.
- The Great Danes pushed the lead to seven 16 seconds into the second half. Larkins scored eight points in the third quarter including two consecutive three-pointers as Vermont regained the lead with 46 seconds left in the third frame. Amanda Kantzy made a layup 18 seconds later to give the Great Danes the lead heading to the final ten minutes.
- In the fourth quarter the Catamounts offense took over the game. Vermont hit its first five shots of the quarter including five points from Rose Caverly and Lauren Handy to take control. Vermont scored 15 unanswered points to build an insurmountable lead and claim its first conference win of the season.

- Vermont's 24 fourth quarter points are the most points UVM has scored in a quarter this season against a Division I opponent.
- Candice Wright had eight blocks this afternoon, tying the school record for single game blocks for the second time this season. She now has 47 this season. She needs three more blocks to tie her own program record for blocks in a season. 47 blocks are the second most in the NCAA.
- Vermont set a new program record with 14 blocks as a team. The previous record was 11 blocks which was set February 23, 1989 against Siena.
