COACH'S QUOTE
"We had a lot of guys from our bench step up tonight and it was great to see," head coach Rob Dow said. "We're playing good defensive football right now which has always been a staple of our program."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Catamounts grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute. Brynjólfsson chased a ball down on the sideline next to his own bench, then dished a feed into the box for Joe Morrison who drove a low shot inside of the far post for the early score.
  • UVM added its second goal of the night in the final seconds of the first half. Garrett Lillie cleared a ball away from the defensive midfield only for Evan Rouleau to toe the ball towards the box. Hans Oeftger raced ahead of the Bearcat defense and finished with the strike into the left side of the net.
  • Vermont carried its offensive momentum into the second half and struck again 1:05 into the period. From the right corner, Brynjólfsson lofted a cross in front of the net that trickled through a pair of defenders in front of the net and Ívar Örn Árnason poked in his third goal of the year.
  • Brynjólfsson notched his first collegiate goal in the 62nd minute. From the top left corner of the box, the freshman hooked a low shot in between the near post and diving Binghamton goalie P.J. Parker (3 saves) with an assist coming from Morrison.
GAME NOTES
  • Brynjólfsson finished the match with four points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Morrison also had a solid outing with three points (1 goal, 1 assist).
  • Netminder Aron Runarsson recorded two saves and earned his second consecutive clean sheet. The senior has climbed into a fourth-place tie on the program's all-time wins list with 25 career victories.
  • UVM extended its winning streak against Binghamton to six games. The Catamounts have won 10 out of the last 11 meetings with the Bearcats and stand at 13-6-3 in the all-time series.
  • With the victory, the Cats Win, Community Wins campaign and Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to Make-A-Wish Vermont; bringing this year's total to 70 wins and $7,000.
