SECOND WEEKLY HONOR OF LAMBERTSON
Junior goalie
Kacey Lambertson was honored as the America East Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. Lambertson collected her second weekly conference award of the season and shared the honor with UAlbany's Sofia Chen. The Matawan, New Jersey native stopped all six shots she faced in Sunday's 1-0 win at UMBC. She notched her second clean sheet of the season and sixth of her Catamount career. The 5-8 netminder sits second in the conference with 58 saves and ranks third with a .817 save percentage.
OVIEDO FOR THE WIN!
Sophomore
Alyssa Oviedo scored the game-winning goal in the 89th minute to beat the Retrievers. The second-year midfielder registered her second-career game-winning goal after netting a walk-off goal in a 2-1 overtime victory at Maine last season.
SCOUTING UMASS LOWELL
The River Hawks are in the midst of a hot streak with three straight conference wins. UML has outscored its opponents 8-3 during the three-game set. In conference play, UMass Lowell leads the league with 27 points, nine goals, and nine assists. Stephanie Kemp sits in a second-place tie with three goals against America East foes. The newcomer recorded her first-career hat trick in a 4-1 victory over UMBC on Oct. 6. Kristi Birgisdottir currently paces the league's top distributors with four assists during league play. During the three-game winning streak, the junior has been credited with at least one assist in each match. In goal, Annerens Tijm has posted the third-best conference save percentage (.762) and fourth-lowest conference goals-against average (1.234).
INSIDE THE SERIES
The all-time series is tight but the River Hawks own a 2-3-2 edge over the Catamounts. The series has been very competitive as four out of the seven contests have needed at least one overtime period to decide an outcome.
