COACH'S QUOTE
"We competed well today, played smart, simple hockey and I'm happy with the focus our players maintained," head coach
Kate Pfeifer said. "We need to take more shots, and find a way to convert on corners to get the result in a tight match like this."

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Matthews received a pass from sophomore Clodagh Ferry and found the back of the net on the game's first shot just 1:40 into play.

- UAlbany added another goal to take a 2-1 lead just 32 seconds later in the 21st minute. UAlbany junior Carlie Pelletier fired a shot off a penalty corner that was saved by Espeland, MacCallum found the loose ball in the circle and tallied her second goal of the game.
- UVM had three penalty corners in the fourth quarter but could not find the equalizer.

- Espeland finished the game with 10 saves, matching a career-high set last season against New Hampshire.
- Clare Sheahan recorded her first career defensive save late in the fourth quarter. She joins Pleun Haantjes and Haley Buffenbarger as active Catamounts with a defensive save.
