THE LEKKAS FILE (S)
Stefanos Lekkas finished his junior campaign as a Hockey East Second Team All-Star and was one of 10 semifinalists for the Mike Richter Award, given annually to the nation's best goalie. He was one of 20 semifinalists for the 67th Walter Brown Award, given to the best American-born college hockey player in New England.
Â
The Elburn, Illinois native posted a .930 save percentage, seventh-best in the nation and a single-season UVM record. His 2.27 goals against average was the third-best mark in program history and ranked 19th nationally. His 1,040 saves were third most in program history in one season.
Â
In his UVM career, he ranks third in saves (2,940), fourth in games played (102), seventh in wins (40), and ninth in shutouts (3). He is one of just five goalies to play in more than 100 games. His .917 career save percentage would place him first in UVM history, ahead of UVM Hall-of-Famer Joe Fallon '08 (.916).
