BURLINGTON, Vt. – The 21st-ranked Monmouth Hawks (13-4, 5-0 AE) jumped to a 2-0 first quarter lead and added another pair in the second quarter to take a 4-0 America East conference win over Vermont (6-10, 1-4 AE) Friday afternoon at Moulton Winder Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Monmouth's Annick van Lange scored in the 12th minute to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead. Stefanie Bigler doubled the lead with 54 seconds left in the quarter.
- Van Lange added her second of the game in the 26th minute with an assist from Ireen Frenken. Monmouth broke through on its sixth straight penalty corner to push its lead to 3-0.
- She completed the hat trick in the waning seconds of the first half, scoring her third goal of the game off an aerial pass from Yasmin Pratt.
- Sierra Espeland made five saves for Vermont in the loss. Katie O'Hogan made just one save in the first three quarters for Monmouth. Ally Tarantino played the fourth quarter and did not face a shot.
