Elise Koehl recorded a six-point performance as the UVM women's lacrosse team capped off its season-opening road trip with a 10-7 non-conference victory at Manhattan on Monday. The Catamounts swept the trip with a 2-0 mark while the Jaspers begin the year at 0-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Jaspers struck first with Alaina Burgess' first goal of the season less than two minutes into the game.
- UVM responded in a big way with five unanswered goals. Koehl found the equalizer at the 22:23 mark, then Taylor Mullen gave the Green and Gold their first lead of the day near the midway point of the first half.
- Grace Giancola padded the lead to 3-1 on a free position shot and Koehl netted her second goal with 10 minutes left in the period. Jenna Janes kept the ball rolling and converted a free position opportunity two minutes later.
- Manhattan stopped the run later in the first half when Molly Fitzpatrick cashed in a free position chance of her own.
- The Catamounts carried the momentum into the second half with two more goals from Koehl and Mullen.
- The Jaspers rallied with four unanswered goals, including two woman-up scores from Grace Lipponer (3 goals), in a five-minute stretch and closed the gap to 7-5.
- Koehl and Mullen teamed up to end Manhattan's run as Koehl netted her fourth goal of the contest with 10:22 remaining on the clock.
- Fitzpatrick kept the pressure on for the Jaspers with her second goal with six minutes left but the Cats scored twice in the late stages of the game to seal the win.
GAME NOTES
- Koehl finished the game with five goals and one assist. The senior also picked up three ground balls.
- Mullen added an offensive spark off the bench with two goals and two assists.
- In addition to her goal, Janes was credited with an assist and registered a game-high five ground balls.
- Maddy Kuras earned the win in the cage and recorded 12 saves for the second straight game.
- UVM is 2-0 to begin the season for the first time since 2014.
- With the victory, the Cats Win, Community Wins campaign and Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to Make-A-Wish Vermont; bringing this year's total to 35 wins and $3,500.

Vermont Men's & Women's Lacrosse Coaches invite program alumni back for a joint alumni day with a doubleheader and reception for program alumni. The day will start at 11 a.m. with women's lacrosse hosting Stony Brook in the annual Vanessa Cox #23 Memorial Game. The men's lacrosse team will continue the action at 2:30 p.m. against UAlbany.
