BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman
David Closterman earned his third straight America East Rookie of the Week honor to open the 2019 season, the conference announced the award Monday.
Closterman tallied two goals and two assists for his second consecutive four-point game in Vermont's 20-10 home win over Quinnipiac last Saturday (Feb. 23) at Virtue Field.

The Doylestown, Pennsylvania native registered a goal and assist in the second quarter before adding his second assist early in the third and his second goal early in the fourth. He chipped in a pair of ground balls, including one that led directly to a
Jack Knight goal.
Closterman is 13th in the country among freshmen with 2.00 goals per game. The Catamount offense ranks eighth in the country with 14.50 goals per game in 2019. UVM has scored 20 or more goals in two games this season after posting 20 or more goals just three times in the previous 27 seasons.
Vermont looks for its third straight win this Saturday (Mar. 2) against the Boston University Terriers (3-1, 0-0 Patriot). The game is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. at Nickerson Field in Boston. The Terriers host the Bulldogs of Bryant University tomorrow afternoon.
