COACH'S QUOTE
"It's really disappointing that we continue to find ways to give games away," said head coach
Jim Plumer. "The effort and focus was there for 50 minutes but we didn't play the last 10 well enough. We've got to be better tomorrow."

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Catamounts opened the scoring when Corinne McCool netted her second goal of the season. The rookie forward entered the UConn zone on the rush and snapped a shot under the pads of Morgan Fisher (22 saves) with 11:04 left in the first period.
- UConn responded with a goal by Kayla Mee 2:50 later. Savannah Bouzide directed a pass to Mee whose shot from the point found the back of the net for the early equalizer.
- The tied game last until there were 3:39 left in the opening frame when Saana Valkama registered her sixth goal of the year on the power play. With the man-advantage, the senior forward buried a rebound in front of the net to regain the lead. Assists on the goal were credited to Theresa Schafzahl and Sammy Kolowrat.
- There were opportunities in the second period for UConn to even up the game once again, but timely stops by Melissa Black (23 saves) and blocked shots by the penalty-kill unit preserved the Catamounts' lead.
- The Huskies took advantage of a power play at the midway point of the third period when Taylor Wabick's shot from the top of the zone beat Black. The UConn defender's second goal of the season was assisted by Morgan Wabick and Natalie Snodgrass.
- Tristyn Svetek took the Huskies' only lead of the day with 5:10 left in regulation when her wrist shot from the blue line avoided traffic in front and flew over the shoulder of the screened Vermont goaltender. Jaime Fox and Briana Colangelo assisted on the game-winning goal.
