ALBANY, N.Y. – The UAlbany Great Danes outscored Vermont 18-5 in the first quarter and never looked back as they secured their third straight league win defeating Vermont 65-40 Saturday afternoon from SEFCU Arena. With the win Maine improved to 7-3 in conference play while the Catamounts fell to 5-6.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont missed its first five shots and the Great Danes built an early lead with an 9-0 run to start the game. Alexi Schecter had six first quarter points as UAlbany carried a 18-5 lead into the second frame.
- Kyara Frames hit a three-pointer 4:35 into the second quarter to cap an 11-0 Great Danes run that stretched UAlbany's advantage. The Great Danes matched their first quarter output and carried a 36-10 lead into the half.
- Vermont outscored the Great Danes 30-29 in the second half. Hanna Crymble hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to give her a team-high 11 points on the afternoon.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Vermont was a perfect eight-for-eight from the free throw line, including six freebies from Hanna Crymble.
- UAlbany's bench narrowly outscored Vermont 17-16. UVM's Lauren Handy had nine of Vermont's 16 bench points.
- Candice Wright had a game-high two blocks Saturday, she now has 67 blocks this season and 208 blocks in her career. Both marks are UVM program records.
