The Vermont Catamounts (3-3, 0-0 AE) travel to Baltimore, Maryland to open America East conference play against the UMBC Retrievers (1-4, 0-0 AE) Saturday afternoon.

SCOUTING THE RETRIEVERS
UMBC enters Saturday's conference-opener with a 1-4 overall record. The Retrievers opened the season with losses to Navy and Richmond before a win over Mt. St. Mary's. Since the victory, Brown and High Point have beaten UMBC.

Juniors Ryan Frawley and Brett McIntyre lead the team with 11 goals. Frawley and sophomore Trevor Patschorke lead the team with 14 points. Senior Billy Nolan has the team lead in assists with eight. Thirteen Retrievers have recorded at least a point through five games.

Sophomore Tommy Lingner has made four starts in goal for UMBC. He holds a 15.56 goals against average and .370 save percentage.

UMBC ranks second to Vermont in the conference with 11.40 goals per game. UMBC's team save percentage is last in America East at .388. The Catamounts are atop the conference with a season save percentage of .519.

INSIDE THE SERIES
UMBC holds a 12-3 all-time record against Vermont in a series dating back to 2004. After losing each of the first 11 meetings to the Retrievers, Vermont has won three of the last four meetings.

Vermont closed the 2018 regular season last April with a 9-6 win over UMBC on Senior Night under the lights at Virtue Field.

CANADIAN CONNECTION
Vermont and St. Bonaventure both have nine Canadians on the 2019 roster, good for the second-most in the NCAA. Only Robert Morris (15) has more Canadians.

Vermont Men's & Women's Lacrosse Coaches invite program alumni back for a joint alumni day with a doubleheader and reception for program alumni. The day will start at 11:00 a.m. with women's lacrosse hosting Stony Brook in the annual Vanessa Cox #23 Memorial Game. The men's lacrosse team will continue the action at 2:30 p.m. hosting UAlbany.Â
