COACH'S QUOTE
"I'm very proud of this group for today's effort," said head coach
Jim Plumer. "Like the season itself, we scratched and clawed right to the end. We followed the game plan and gave ourselves some great chances in the third. This senior class is leaving this program in great shape in so many ways. I'm really thankful for everything they've given us these last four years. We have a lot to build on next year."

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northeastern's lone goal came with 9:48 left in the first period when Kasidy Anderson deflected the puck over the glove of Blanka Škodová (31 saves). Codie Cross fired the initial shot and Paige Capistran had the secondary assist.
- Alyssa Gorecki nearly tied the game with 5:05 left in the opening frame when she one-timed a pass from Ellice Murphy but Aerin Frankel (22 saves) slid across to deny the goal.
- The two squads exchanged high quality scoring chances to begin the second period. Kristina Shanahan and Theresa Schafzahl neared the NU goal on a 2-on-1 and Shanahan elected to shoot, but Frankel was able to make a save with her blocker. Minutes later, Andrea Renner fired a shot through heavy traffic that slipped through the pads of Škodová, but the UVM netminder spun around to keep the puck from crossing the goal line.
- Vermont poured on the chances in the third period as they outshot the Huskies 12-4. Corinne McCool made a nifty move to the slot and quickly fired a shot, but it was kicked away by Frankel. Shanahan almost registered the equalizer at the midway point of the frame when she received a pass from Ève-Audrey Picard and wired a shot from the low slot, but Frankel robbed the sophomore forward with a glove save.
- With just under a minute left in the game, Maude Poulin-Labelle walked in and sent a heavy wrist shot from the top of the circle that hit Frankel and bounced over the goaltender, tracking towards the back of the net. The puck nearly crossed the goal line, but was kept out by a Northeastern defender.
- One last shot came with 4.6 seconds left on the clock as Saana Valkama's slap shot was deflected and the puck almost travelled through Frankel, but the NU goaltender squeezed the legs together to keep it out.
NOTES
- Alyssa Gorecki skated in her 146th game as a Vermont Catamount to set the program record for most games played.
