COACH'S QUOTE
"Today was a nice way to wrap up our last four games on the road," head coach Sarah Dalton said. "I'm proud of our draw team for dominating the circle and giving our team possession. I think our defense was aggressive and disciplined which is something we stressed this week and want to continue to build on. I also love that we had nine people register a point and I know we are all excited to get back to Virtue as we resume conference play."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The non-conference foes swapped goals through the early minutes of the game. Elise Koehl struck first at the 28:36 mark but CCSU's Carson Adelberger tied the game a minute later. Jenna Janes broke the tie with a free position goal with 26:17 left in the half but the Blue Devils evened the score at 2-2 with Kailtyn Rapp's fourth goal of the year.
  • The Catamounts gained some breathing room with four unanswered goals in a two-minute stretch, highlighted with a goal and assist from Taylor Mullen.
  • CCSU broke the run near the midway point but UVM produced four more goals including a pair from Dani Paterno to pad its lead to 10-3.
  • In the final seconds of the first half, both teams found the back of the net as the Green and Gold held an 11-4 edge at the break.
  • The Cats outscored the Blue Devils 5-1 in the second half including two goals apiece from Koehl and Maris Large. CCSU's Raphaela DaSilva added the final goal of the afternoon with 5:25 left to play.
GAME NOTES
  • Koehl led the scoring attack with a game-high four goals – her seventh consecutive hat trick. The senior was also credited with an assist and picked up two ground balls.
  • Large netted all three shot attempts for her third hat trick in the last five games.
  • Paterno logged her first career hat trick with three goals.
  • The trio of Caoili, Janes, and Mullen added two goals apiece.
  • UVM has also won its last six road games, the fourth-longest active streak in the country.
  • The Catamounts won the shots battle, 37-14 and won 20-of-23 draw controls.
  • The five-game overall winning streak sits one win shy of tying the program's single-season record set back in 1984.
  • With the victory, the Cats Win, Community Wins campaign and Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to Make-A-Wish Vermont; bringing this year's total to 48 wins and $4,800.
