HANOVER, N.H. – The men's and women's track outdoor track & field teams finished in second place Friday in a quad meet hosted by Dartmouth College. The Vermont men finished in second place with 154 points, while the women scored 129 points, both teams defeated their America East rivals Hartford and UMass Lowell. The host Big Green finished first overall in their lone home meet of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Taylor Kracher won the men's 1500m in a time of 4:01.26, the second fastest time of his career in the event. He won the event by .37 seconds over Dartmouth freshman Isaac Weber.
- John Benner set a new personal record in the 5000m, placing first overall with a time of 14:45.80. His UVM teammate Neville Caulfield finished in second place 3.36 seconds behind Benner.
- Dan DeBlieck ran his fastest 400m hurdle time of the season in 53.21 to claim Vermont's third event title of the afternoon.
- Andy Chess won the first outdoor pole vault of his career with a personal best of 4.40m. Chess was the only competitor to clear 4.25m on the day.
- On the women's side Courtney Wright also picked up her first collegiate win. She had the best triple jump of the day at 10.70m.
- The women's 4x400m relay team picked up Vermont's other win on the women's side with an impressive time of 4:02.12. Ava Meyer, Lauren Trumble, Dina John and Jane Leighton finished 11.43 seconds ahead of their closest competition.
WHAT'S NEXT
Tomorrow and Sunday Vermont will host the Catamount Combined Events Challenge at the Frank H. Livak Track & Field Facility. Competition will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday.
