  • The River Hawks answered with a five-goal run but Elise Koehl broke the streak at the 20:38 mark. The Catamounts kept the pressure on and drew within 7-5 after Grace Giancola, Janes, and Jenny Caoili found the back of the net.
  • UML cashed in a free position chance but UVM countered with three unanswered goals and tied the game at 8-8 with six minutes left in the half. Janes set up a pair of scoring chances for Koehl and Maris Large, then MacKenzie Bolt netted the equalizer to cap off the surge.
  • In the final 5:20 of the period, the conference foes traded scores and went into halftime knotted up at 10-10.
  • The River Hawks built a 15-11 lead less than 10 minutes into the second half, but Koehl and Caoili countered with goals of their own and cut the margin to 15-13.
  • Facing a 19-15 deficit with 5:40 left to play, Vermont mounted a furious comeback. Large added her second goal of the afternoon 15 seconds later then Bolt netted a woman-down goal with three minutes remaining on the clock. Near the two-minute mark, Bolt lofted a pass over the defense and Dani Paterno lined a shot into the back of the net to trim the margin to 19-18.
  • In the last minute, UVM forced a turnover and marched down field with a chance to tie the game. Janes tossed a pass to an open Large in front of the net but the pass sailed too high. Following a timeout, the River Hawks preserved their one-goal lead by running out the clock.
