Stefanos Lekkas has been nominated for the 2020 Hobey Baker Memorial Award. The nominees were announced earlier Thursday afternoon.

It marks the second consecutive season Lekkas has been nominated for the award. The senior posted one of the best seasons in Catamount history in 2018-19, and has posted three shutouts in 2019-20. He is one of eight NCAA goalies with three or more shutouts this season.
In the UVM history book, Lekkas sits second in career saves (3,468) and trails only UVM Hall-of-Famer Tim Thomas '97 (3,950). He is fourth in career games played (120), fifth in career shutouts (6), and sixth in career wins (43).
As it currently stands, Lekkas' career save percentage (.918) is the best in program history. His 2.59 career goals against average places him third in Green & Gold history.
In 2019-20, Lekkas has posted a scoreless streak of 141:02, the fifth longest in program history. At Gutterson Fieldhouse, he posted a scoreless streak of 172:41. Lekkas most recently recorded 46 saves in a 2-2 tie against Dartmouth (Jan. 10), the first 40-plus save game of the season and 12th of his career.
Fan voting for the Hobey Baker Award is live and will run through Sunday, Mar. 9. The top-10 nominees will be announced after the fan vote and the three finalists will be announced at the Frozen Four on Friday, Apr. 10.
Lekkas is one of 12 Hockey East players nominated and one of 15 goalies nominated for the award. A total of 78 players from 45 different universities were nominated for the 2020 honor.
The Catamounts host tenth-ranked UMass in a Hockey East weekend series at Gutterson Fieldhouse beginning Friday (Jan. 17). The puck is slated to drop at 7:05 p.m. on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 18).
