SKIING NOTEBOOK
After a season-opening win in the Harvard Carnival last weekend the Catamounts host the UVM Carnival this weekend in central Vermont. The Nordic competition will take place at the Craftsbury Oudoor Center in Craftsbury and the alpine competition will be held at the Mt. Mansfield Ski Club and Academy part of the Stowe Mountain Resort.

HARVARD CARNIVAL RECAP
Last weekend the Catamounts claimed the inaugural Harvard Carnival with a total of 867 points, just four more points than the second-place finisher Middlebury. The Catamounts men's Nordic team led the way earning an impressive 266 points over the two days earning five of the top-10 spots each day. On Saturday the Catamounts also earned 125 points from the women's team in the GS with
Marina Vilanova and
Josefine Selvaag earning a spot on the podium.

OVRUM AND VILANOVA NAMED EISA SKIERS OF THE WEEK
After leading the Catamounts at the Harvard Carnival last weekend
Matias Øvrum and
Marina Vilanova were named EISA Skiers of the Week.
Â
Ovrum earned a pair of podium finishes for the Catamounts. He finished in second Friday in the 10k Skate and on Saturday he earned his first career EISA win with a sprint to the finish line in the 20k Classic. Ovrum earned 97 points for the Catamounts.

In her first collegiate weekend Vilanova didn't disappoint for the Catamounts, placing seventh in the slalom and then winning the giant slalom. She earned a total of 89 points for the Catamounts.
