SCOUTING WAGNER
The Seahawks are coming off a Northeast Conference Championship and were picked as the NEC preseason frontrunner this year. Wagner has dropped two out of its first three games, but beat Quinnipiac 19-10 last Saturday for its first win of 2020. Sunday is also the final leg of a four-game season-opening homestand. The Seahawks own the highest scoring offense in the conference with 38 total points. Erin Kerstetter is the NEC's leader with eight goals and she is the two-time reigning NEC Player of the Week. Madeline Seims has added eight points, including a seven-point effort against Quinnipiac where she netted six goals. Goalie Lauren DiStefano has registered the second-most saves (36) in the league and has posted a 13.00 goals-against average this year.
FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
Sunday's matinee is the first ever meeting between the non-conference foes. Wagner is the second of four teams on the 2020 docket that will play Vermont for the first time in school history. In addition to Merrimack, the Cats will head to Mercer on Sunday, March 8 and Kennesaw State on Wednesday, March 11.
