MEN'S HOCKEY NOTEBOOK
Vermont (3-18-4, 0-13-2 HEA) returns to Hockey East play with a pair of conference games at New Hampshire (13-11-2, 7-8-1 HEA) this weekend. The Catamounts and Wildcats meet at 7:05 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 7) and Saturday (Feb. 8) at the Whittemore Center in Durham, New Hampshire.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
New Hampshire enters the Hockey East weekend series with a 13-11-2 overall record and 7-8-1 conference mark. The Wildcats suffered a pair of 7-4 losses at home to UConn last weekend. UNH is currently ninth in the Hockey East standings with 15 points, trailing first place BC and UMass by just five points.

UNH thrives on its power play with an 8-4-2 record when scoring a man-up goal and a 5-7-0 mark when coming up empty. Â UNH has scored 31.5% (23-of-73) of its goals on the power play this season to rank third in Hockey East and 12th in the country. The power play ranks third in Hockey East and 13th nationally (22.8%, 23-for-101).

Junior Charlie Kelleher leads the team with 17 assists and 23 points. Â Sophomore Angus Crookshank leads the team with 12 goals and 102 shots on goal.

Junior Mike Robinson has started 18 games between the pipes and leads the Wildcats statistically (2.61 GAA, .900 SV%). Sophomore Ty Taylor has made eight starts this season. He holds a 2.97 goals against average and .893 save percentage.

SERIES HISTORY
Friday marks the 118th meeting between Vermont and New Hampshire. Â UNH holds an 80-27-10 record in the series, bolstered by a 32-4-0 record to begin the series. Â Vermont holds a 14-23-9 record against New Hampshire under head coach

The series dates back to UVM's first varsity season. Vermont played New Hampshire in its third-ever game, losing 6-3 in Durham.

Since the start of the 2008-09 season, New Hampshire holds a 16-12-7 series edge. The Wildcats have a +15 goal differential (108-93) in the 35-game stretch. Thirteen of the series' 23 overtime games have come in this stretch. UVM and UNH are both 3-3-7 in those games.

SERIES SPOTLIGHT
Vermont recorded back-to-back 1-0 wins behind respective 17- and 34-save shutout performances to advance to the 2010 Hockey East semifinal round.

UVM finished a point ahead of Northeastern to take the eight seed in the playoffs, and after losing 7-4 in the quarterfinal series opener, Rob Madore '12 led Vermont to two straight wins and series win. David Pacan '10 scored the game-winner in the third period of game two (Mar. 13) and Jay Anctil '10 scored the overtime winner in game three (Mar. 14).
