COACH'S QUOTE
"Tonight's game was a great experience for our players in an exciting soccer environment with two competitive teams in a rival matchup," said head coach Rob Dow. "It wasn't the result we wanted, but we got better tonight. Several players made key plays and we'll look to build off our performance tonight into Dartmouth."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Vermont gained an early advantage in a hotly-contested opening half when New Hampshire's Jacob Gould was handed a red card in the 27th minute.
  • The Catamounts struck first in the 73rd minute when Yves Borie netted his second goal of the season. The Vermont midfielder headed a corner kick by Alex Nagy for the late lead.
  • New Hampshire quickly answered 44 seconds later, when Tola Showunmi was awarded a penalty kick following a Vermont handball in the 18-yard box. Showunmi deposited the penalty kick into the lower right corner for the equalizer in the 74th minute.
  • The Catamounts outshot the Wildcats 2-0 in the overtime periods. Borie was credited with both shots, which included a kick in the 103rd minute that forced Jassem Koleillat (2 saves) to dive to his left for the save.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Nate Silveira registered two saves in goal for the Catamounts.
  • Borie led the Vermont attack with four shots on the night, which was also a game-high.
  • Mujtaba Mirhasan tallied two shots, including one on goal, in 37 minutes of play.
  • Vermont snaps New Hampshire's four-game conference winning streak.
