MORGAN STANLEY PETER BALDWIN COMMUNITY YOUTH SOCCER WEEKEND
October 2 is the conclusion of the Morgan Stanley Peter Baldwin Community Youth Soccer Weekend. Baldwin, a 1968 graduate and 1984 UVM Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, guided the Vermont men's soccer team to three straight Yankee Conference titles and currently ranks fifth on the school's all-time scoring list.

THURSDAY TO REMEMBER FOR BASA

Cricket Basa scored a goal and an assist leading Vermont to a 2-0 win over Maine Thursday evening in America East action on the road. Thursday was the Catamounts second clean sheet of the 2021 campaign.
OVIEDO AND BASA LEAD THE WAY FOR VERMONT

Cricket Basa and
Alyssa Oviedo continue to lead the Catamounts in scoring with three goals and an assist for seven points apiece. They both had a goal Thursday night at Maine. UVM is 3-2-0 this season when they reach the scoresheet.
SCOUTING THE HIGHLANDERS
NJIT is just 4-8-0 this season but is coming off of back-to-back conference wins over Maine and Stony Brook. On Thursday night, they defeated the defending America East champion Seawolves 1-0. Fifth year Yasmeen Malik scored the lone goal of the contest for the Highlanders Thursday.
With back-to-back shutout wins over Maine and Stony Brook NJIT posted consecutive home conference shutouts for the first time in the Division I era (2006). Ten of NJIT's 12 contests have been clean sheets - all four wins and six of eight losses.
Bailey Chant is NJIT's leading scorer with three goals and two assists for eight points. One of her goals came in league play against UMass Lowell.
CATS VS. THE GARDEN STATE
Sunday's matinee is the second ever meeting between the two programs. The Cats have played 10 matches against schools from New Jersey with a 6-3-1 record. Last season UVM defeated the Highlanders on the road 2-1 behind first half goals from
Alyssa Oviedo and
Fiona Doherty.
