BOSTON, Mass. – The America East Conference unveiled its preseason coaches' poll today ahead of the fast-approaching 2021 season.
Vermont collected 35 points to slot into fourth place in the poll. The top four teams were separated by just nine total points.

Stony Brook was tabbed the preseason favorite with 44 total points and four first-place votes. Eight-time champion UAlbany picked up 43 points and a pair of first-place votes while most-recent champion UMBC tallied 38 points and the final two first-place votes.
Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.
Vermont wrapped up the 2020 season with a 3-1 record before the remainder of its schedule was cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 2021 Catamounts feature 57 players from 17 states, two Canadian provinces and Germany. Ten first-year players, a graduate transfer from Middlebury College and 46 returning players comprise the roster.

*Vermont opens the season at Bryant on Feb. 27. The Cats play at Virtue Field for the first time since nearly a year to the day when UMass Lowell pays a visit on March 6.
