Tommy Burke went 24-for-34 at the faceoff X but the Catamounts couldn't find the offensive touch late falling to #6/7 Syracuse, 17-13, at the Carrier Dome. Vermont outshot Syracuse 51-32 and picked up 42 ground balls compared to Syracuse's 29.
JJ Levandowski scored twice against his former team while
Thomas McConvey scored four goals in a game for the second time this season.

MACK ATTACK
Michael McCormack's big week (8G, 1A) landed him America East Offensive Player of the Week honors, the league announced earlier this week. McCormack scored six times against UMass Lowell – tied for the third-most goals in a single game in program history – before pitting two more against the Orange. The lefty is tied for the team lead with ten goals this season.

SCOUTING THE GREAT DANES
UAlbany (2-0, 1-0 AE) is coming off a dominant 16-6 win over Hartford last weekend. Goalie Liam Donnelly made 10 saves against the Hawks and earned conference Defensive Player of the Week honors. The Danes are once against led on offense by the senior duo of Jakob Patterson and Tehoka Nanticoke who have combined for 16 points through two games.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Saturday marks the 28
th all-time meeting between Vermont and UAlbany dating back to 1981. The Great Danes lead the series 21-6 but Vermont has won two straight (both in 2019) including a 13-9 win in the America East Semifinals. The McConvey brothers – both first-years in 2019 – combined for four goals in that UVM win.
