Vermont picked up its first ever win over UAlbany in Albany and third straight overall against the Great Danes last weekend.
Griffin Fenech and
Amos Gilbert scored clutch goals late in the fourth quarter to put the final touches on a 14-12 victory.
Liam Limoges paced the offense with a career-best seven-point (4G, 3A) afternoon while
Ryan Cornell made a career-high 14 saves in cage.

WEEKLY HONORS
Limoges and Cornell both picked up weekly honors after their big games at UAlbany. Limoges was named America East Offensive Player of the Week and also found a spot on the USILA National Team of the Week. Cornell, meanwhile, earned the America East Defensive Player of the Week nod.

Last weekend's win over UAlbany vaulted the Cats into the national polls for the first time since 2018. Vermont is ranked 19
th in both the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll and the USILA Poll.

SCOUTING THE HIGHLANDERS
NJIT is off to a 0-4 (0-2 AE) start to 2021 and is coming of a 13-4 loss to Stony Brook last weekend. Jack Bowie leads the Highlanders with seven goals and eight points on the young season. Liam Brown has started all four games in cage and brings a .543 save percentage into Saturday's contest.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Saturday marks just the third all-time meeting (all in Newark) between NJIT and Vermont. The Cats have won both of those matchups by a combined 21 goals including a 19-5 win in the last meeting back in 2016. Â
