THE COLISEUM
Over the last three seasons, the Catamounts are an impressive 11-1 at Virtue Field – including a 3-0 mark last year. Vermont is 12-4 at home since head coach
Chris Feifs took the reins in 2017.
Â
EYES ON MCCONVEY
Thomas McConvey picked up where he left off in 2020 with a career day against Bryant. His six points on four goals and a pair of assists tied a career-high that he set last season against Quinnipiac. He now has five career hat tricks and has registered at least one point in 20 straight games.
Â
SCOUTING UMASS LOWELL
The River Hawks also opened their season Saturday and fell to Merrimack, 16-8. Conor Foley scored three goals and added an assist to lead the UMass Lowell attack. UML returned four of their top six scorers from last season and a former All-Conference selection - Liam McDonough – on defense. The River Hawks were picked to finish fifth – just behind the Catamounts – in the America East Preseason Poll.
Â
INSIDE THE SERIES
The series history is brief between the River Hawks and Catamounts. UVM holds a 4-1 edge in five all-time meetings including an unblemished 2-0 mark in Burlington. UMass Lowell did, however, pick up its only win in the series the last time the two teams met – an 8-4 victory in 2018.
