Vermont toughed out a 14-9 win over Hartford last weekend at Virtue Field to move to 4-0 in league play.
Tommy Burke went 19-for-26 at the Faceoff X with 10 ground balls while
Michael McCormack scored five goals and added an assist in the victory.
Ryan Cornell made nine stops in cage.

MOVING UP
The Cats continued their climb in the national rankings vaulting to #13 in this week's Inside Lacrosse Media Poll – the second-highest ranking in program history – and stood firm at #16 in the USILA Poll. The Cats were ranked No. 12 at one point during the 2018 season.

Thomas McConvey's 18. Four players have at least 20 points this season.

It was announced Friday afternoon that both
Thomas McConvey and
Michael McCormack were added to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List. They are the first Catamounts to appear on the list since
Ian MacKay in 2018.

SCOUTING THE RETRIEVERS
UMBC – the most recent America East champion – comes into Saturday's matchup right behind Vermont in the conference standings at 3-1 (4-1 overall). The Retrievers are ranked eighth nationally in scoring defense holding opponents to just 8.60 goals per game. UMBC's
Nick Dupuis leads the team in scoring with 13 goals while goalie Tommy Linger has stopped 52% of shots thrown his way. Three of UMBC's four wins this season have been by one goal.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Saturday marks just the 18
th all-time meeting between UMBC and Vermont - the Retrievers hold a 13-4 lead in the series. The two teams met twice in 2019 and split the series – UMBC won the latter matchup with the America East title on the line, 14-13. The Cats won the last meeting in Baltimore – a 12-11 double-overtime thriller – also in 2019.
