BOSTON – Vermont men's soccer first year
Bjarni Adalsteinsson has been named America East Rookie of the Week. The conference made the announcement on Tuesday morning at league headquarters.

The rookie registered his first collegiate goal in the regular season finale on Friday (Apr. 9) against eleventh-ranked New Hampshire. A native of Akureyri, Iceland, Adalsteinsson struck for the Catamounts in the 64th minute when he converted a cross from
Hans Oeftger. The 5-11 back was one of only two rookies in America East to net a goal last week.
Adalsteinsson is the second Catamount to win an America East weekly award this season. Goalkeeper
Nate Silveira was named Defensive Player of the Week on March 16.
Vermont returns to the pitch on Thursday (Apr. 15) as the No. 2 seed in the America East Semifinals, facing third-seeded NJIT at 7 p.m. in Durham, N.H. The Catamounts and the Highlanders face off in the postseason for the first time in series history. Fans can watch the action on AmericaEast.TV.
