She Roars, a UVM Athletics Inclusive Excellence Committee initiative, works to foster gender equity in the world of sports; raising awareness about the stories, accomplishments, and power of women athletes as well as, combating the long-term inequalities women face in sport. With the support of our community, alumni, and fans,
She Roars empowers all women to stand up for themselves and others and champions the recognition and celebration of all women leaders in sport, on and off the field. This campaign is dedicated to breaking down barriers and empowering all women, trans women, femme, and non-binary folks in sport and our community.
The Playa Society is an athlete-driven brand created by Esther Wallace - an artist, turned athlete, turned entrepreneur who went from never having played sports as a child, to falling in love with basketball and earning a Division I scholarship to Fairleigh Dickinson University.
After playing and coaching overseas, Esther decided to create the brand that she needed when she was younger - one that could have showed her what a confident athlete looks like. Inspired by her personal experiences, Esther uses
Playa Society as a platform to contribute to the growth of women's sports. The gear inspires athletes with products that reflect core social values, like gender equality and social justice.
The gear sale will run from April 6 through April 20th.
