BOSTON – For the first time this season and first time in his career,
David Closterman earned America East Offensive Player of the Week honors. The league made the announcement Monday morning.
Vermont also jumped back into the national rankings to No. 18 in both the USILA Top 20 and the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll.

In a 2-0 week for the Catamounts, Closterman went for eight goals and four assists with a .571 shooting percentage. Saturday against Stony Brook, the former America East Rookie of the Year posted a career-high nine points on six goals and three assists. His nine points are the fourth-most in a game in program history and six goals ties him for third-most in a single game.
Closterman now has 20 goals and 17 assists for 37 points this season.
The America East Tournament is on deck for the second-seed Catamounts who play No. 3 Stony Brook in a rematch of Saturday's regular season finale. UMBC will host that game on Semifinal-Thursday starting at 4 p.m. Fans can catch all the action on AmericaEast.TV.
