Sophie McLaughlin was named America East Defensive Player of the Week, following her 14-save performance in the Catamounts' win over UMass Lowell on Saturday (May 1).

McLaughlin earns the America East weekly honor for the third time this season. The Catamount goalkeeper was named Defensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks in March.
The junior's 14 saves led the conference last week as Vermont secured the No. 3 seed in the America East Tournament. McLaughlin has registered 14 saves or more in three games this season and leads the league in saves per game (10.30). The Keene, New Hampshire native also ranks second in America East in save percentage (.472).
McLaughlin and the Catamounts travel to Stony Brook, New York for the America East Women's Lacrosse Semifinals on Thursday (Mar. 6). Third-seeded Vermont (6-5, 6-3 AE) will face second-seeded UAlbany (10-6, 7-2 AE) at 6:30 p.m. at Kenneth P. Lavalle Stadium. Fans can watch the postseason matchup live on ESPN3.
