BURLINGTON, Vt. - Vermont head women's hockey coach
Jim Plumer unveiled the team's 2021-22 schedule on Friday morning. The Catamounts will play 19 home games this season with their season opener set for Friday, October 1 at 6 p.m. as they host RPI.

Hockey East Composite Schedule
- The Catamounts begin the season with six-straight home games in October. UVM welcomes non-conference foes RPI (October 1-2) and Colgate (October 9-10) before turning to conference play. UVM will host Holy Cross on Friday, October 22 at 6 p.m. followed by Merrimack on Sunday, October 24 at 2 p.m.
- Vermont will welcome the Frozen Four finalist and four-time defending Hockey East Champion Northeastern Huskies to the Gut November 12 and 13. Friday night's action is slated for 6 p.m. and the teams will close their series at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
- The final regular season home game of the 2021-22 campaign will be Saturday, February 12 at 2 p.m. as the Catamounts host Boston University.
- Beginning in 2022, all 10 women's programs will compete in a single-elimination postseason tournament for the Bertagna Trophy given to the Hockey East Champions.
- Seeds seven and eight will host seeds 10 and nine, respectively, in the Opening Round on Wednesday, February 23 while the top six seeds receive a bye into the Quarterfinals.
- After a reseeding, the top two seeds will host the winners of the Opening Round while the three seed will host the six seed and the four seed will host the five seed. Semifinals will take place on Friday, March 4 and the Championship is set for Saturday, March 5 in prime time for just the second time ever.
The Catamounts went 6-4-0 during the condensed 2020-21 season clinching fourth place in Hockey East for the first time since 2017. First year goaltender
Jessie McPherson became the first women's hockey player in program history to be named Hockey East Rookie of the Year. Rising senior defenseman
Maude Poulin-Labelle became the third Catamount in program history to be named a Hockey East All-Star in back-to-back seasons. Poulin-Labelle led the Catamounts in scoring last season with one goal and eight assists for nine points. At 0.90 points-per game she was the second highest scoring defenseman in the NCAA last year.
