MILITARY APPRECIATION NIGHT
We are proud to partner with Milton Cat to present tonight's Military Appreciation game, and to benefit the Josh Pallotta Fund. The Josh Pallotta Fund was created by a group of Veterans, family, and community members in memory of Joshua R. Pallotta. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Veterans and Service Members by combining local and national resources, emergency services, and research to provide Veterans the resiliency, transition and reintegration tools to help them sustain or return to full and healthy lives. SCOUTING THE SAINTS
Siena enters Tuesday night after earning a 2-1 win on Saturday (Sep. 18) over Merrimack. Prior to the weekend contest, Siena had lost two straight. The Saints are led on attack by Jacob Arachchige-Jensen with five assists and Jacob Pacheco with four points on a team-high two goals. Greg Monroe has been the usual goalkeeper for Siena with starts in all six games. The senior carries a 1.39 goals against average and .769 save percentage.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont is 10-2 in the all-time series against Siena with wins in three of the last five meetings. The Catamounts last win over the Saints came in 2018 at Virtue Field. Geo Alves scored the clinching goal in the 10th minute of a 1-0 victory. UVM is 7-1 against Siena in Burlington.
CATS' DEFENSE RANKED AMONG BEST
Despite suffering a 2-0 loss on Saturday at Stony Brook, the Vermont defense ranks in the nation's top 10 in several categories. The Catamounts are ranked third in shutout percentage with clean sheets in five of their six games this season. UVM is fifth in team save percentage with a .913 mark. Vermont's team goals against average ranks seventh with a .333 average.
ON THE REBOUND
Vermont looks to rebound after getting blanked for the first time since the Catamounts' season-opening scoreless tie at UNH a season ago. In the last 10 times that Vermont has been shutout, the Cats have responded with an 8-1-1 record in the following games. UVM's only loss during that stretch came in 2016 at nationally-ranked UMass Lowell.
