BURLINGTON, Vt. - Vermont men's hockey head coach
Todd Woodcroft has selected four student-athletes to lead the Catamounts in the 2021-22 campaign. Junior defenseman
Andrew Lucas will continue as the 62nd captain in program history. Senior
Carter Long and juniors
Jacques Bouquot and
William Lemay will serve as alternate captains.
"We expect everyone on the men's hockey team to lead just as we expect everyone to serve," said Woodcroft. The three players selected as alternate captains to
Andrew Lucas embody all that we want to build with this program – each individual is more concerned with the collective than they are with themselves. Each works from the sidelines rather than out in the open. All three understand that the details in our game will define our successes as a team."
"Ultimately, the cost of winning is making hard decisions – Andrew, Carter, Jacques and William have demonstrated to each other and to their teammates that they are willing to lead by their actions during the most difficult of times," continued Woodcroft. The coaching staff is very excited to work alongside these four gentlemen this year."
