COACH'S QUOTE
"While we had some excellent offensive chances tonight, we couldn't find the back of the net versus a good goalie," Head Coach
Todd Woodcroft said. "Our legs looked tired at intervals but the quick turnaround in game time was the same for both teams. Back to work tomorrow."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- BU's Sam Stevens opened the scoring for the Terriers 2:49 into the first period. Brian Carrabes fired a shot from the point that Stevens redirected past Vermont's Gabe Carriere.
- With 4:39 left in the second period Boston University doubled its advantage just seconds after Vermont's penalty kill completed a successful kill. Ty Gallagher skated to below the goal line and as Carriere committed to Gallagher, he centered a feed to Ethan Phillips in front. Phillips tapped home the goal past two diving Vermont defenders.
- 2:07 into the third Robert Mastrosimone scored on a breakaway to make it 3-0 Terriers. With 6:54 to go Phillips struck again to put the game out of reach.
- Vermont had 15 shots on Commesso in the third period but he made several crucial saves to keep the Catamounts comeback from starting,
