COACH'S QUOTE
"Sometimes you are the teacher, sometimes you are the student," Head Coach
Todd Woodcroft said. "Today we ate some humble pie. The next ten practices will be a training camp for this team. Practices will be stiff with a focus on competition for jobs. We have until October 22 to prove that we are a competitive team."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Matt Demelis opened the scoring for the Huskies 8:06 into the contest on Northeastern's second power play of the game. Aidan McDonough centered a hard-low pass and Demelis deflected it up and over UVM's Oskar Autio.
- After a Huskies penalty kill McDonough doubled the Huskies advantage with 1:48 to play in the first. Northeastern broke into the UVM zone on a four-on-three and McDonough was able to step into a wrist shot that snuck under Autio's arm.
- 90 seconds into the second period Northeastern stretched its advantage to three when Gunnarwolfe Fontaine one-timed a rolling puck that flew unpredictably high and in for his first goal of the season.
- Justin Hryckowian scored with 1:13 left in the second period and then again 3:12 into the third for the Huskies.
