BOSTON – Vermont men's soccer goalkeeper
Nate Silveira has been named America East Goalkeeper of the Year by the league's coaches. Silveira is the first two-time Goalkeeper of the Year in program history.

Silveira has been the key backstop for the eighth-ranked Catamounts who went 13-2-2 (5-1-1 AE) in the regular season. Vermont has posted a .529 goals against average and .588 shutout percentage, which ranks third and fifth in the nation, respectively.
The East Providence, R.I. native led America East in goals against average (.516) and save percentage (.826). Silveira currently ranks fourth nationally in goals against average and 11th in save percentage. The fifth-year senior's shutout total (8) is sixth in the nation.
Silveira and the Catamounts held their opponents off the score sheet for a stretch of over seven games, and a program-best 792:44 of game play. Vermont's shutout streak came in the midst of 11-straight wins.
The second-seeded Catamounts will host No. 3 UAlbany in an America East Semifinal matchup on Thursday (Nov. 10) at Virtue Field. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. and will broadcast live on ESPN+. Tickets will be available for purchase at
