Rob Dow. "Credit to Coach Barboto and NJIT for a good performance and game plan against us. Full focus on Harvard now to finish out this two game road trip strong."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont pounced on the scoreboard first in the 18th minute of action, seeing Nico Loebus work his way to the box, finding Ludvig af Ugglas who then sent a pass to Ismail in front of the net. Ismail, displaying incredible athleticism, orchestrated a beautiful volley, using his right foot to fire a shot to the top right corner, securing his fourth goal of the season, earning UVM the 1-0 lead.
- The Highlanders saw their best chance of the match in the 71st minute when Sergio Martinez Cubel fired a shot on net to the far side, but Niklas Herceg was there to stretch out and make a diving one hand save, batting the ball out of bounds, forcing a corner kick and keeping NJIT scoreless.
- The Catamounts doubled their lead in the 76th minute of play, seeing Philipp Kühn feed Millar through the middle of the box, who wasted no time pinning his second goal of the season to the back of the net, earning the Catamounts a two-goal lead.
- NJIT's Jake Rubis broke the shutout in the 89th minute of play, but the damage was already done and Vermont held on to the 2-1 road conference victory, improving to 8-0-3 overall on the season and 2-0-0 in conference play.
