WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Moses Flowers' basket with four seconds left in the extra frame led Hartford (7-16, 5-6 AE) to a 75-74 overtime victory over Vermont (20-5, 12-1 AE) on Monday night at Chase Family Arena. The loss snaps UVM's nation-leading 14-game winning streak.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The conference foes exchanged leads in the early minutes until Austin Williams' driving layup with 12:06 remaining in the first half. The Hartford guard finished through contact and converted on the and-one to give the Hawks a 15-13 lead. Williams' three-point play was in the midst of a 15-0 run that put Hartford up 25-13 with 8:24 left in the frame.
- Vermont responded with an 8-2 run over the next 1:17 with Justin Mazzulla posting five points. The Hawks answered with back-to-back triples to go back up by 12 points. The Catamounts rattled off three-consecutive treys to pull to within one possession with 3:34 remaining. Aaron Deloney hit back-to-back threes to reach nine points on the night as UVM trailed 33-30. Hartford expanded its lead down the stretch and took a 41-33 lead into the break.
- The Catamounts rallied to start the second half and knotted the game at 50-50 with 10:55 on Deloney's third triple of the night. Williams followed up the equalizer with a three-pointer of his own to put the Hawks back in front. Vermont finally took the lead with threes from Nick Fiorillo and Kam Gibson that gave the Cats a 56-53 lead with 8:19 left in regulation.
- Gibson added a trio of free throws minutes later to stretch the Vermont lead to 59-55 – its largest of the second half. Williams scored nine of Hartford's 12 points down the stretch to give the Hawks a 67-65 lead with six seconds left. With one final possession to tie or take the lead, Ben Shungu crashed the offensive glass and converted on the put-back at the buzzer to force overtime.
- Hartford and Vermont combined for five field goals on seven attempts in the first three minutes of the extra frame. Tied up at 73-73, Shungu sank one free throw with 15 seconds left to put the Catamounts in front. Hartford marched down the floor with Williams holding the ball. The Hawks' guard drove to the basket and missed, but Moses Flowers was there for the put-back with four seconds remaining for the winning basket.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Shungu registered his first career double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. The graduate student converted on 8-of-15 field goals, including a pair of three pointers. On the glass, Shungu picked up four offensive rebounds and eight defensive rebounds.
- Gibson posted a season-high 18 points on the night, hitting five treys and three free throws.
- Deloney was 4-for-7 from the floor and 3-for-5 from long range to tally 13 points. The junior also pulled in two rebounds.
