Tommy Burke's exceptional start to the season netted him America East Defensive Player of the Week honors. The League made the announcement earlier this afternoon.

The junior faceoff specialist combined to go 31-for-50 at the X (62%) over the first two games against #3 Duke and upstart Utah. He also collected 11 ground balls in the pair of contests.
Against Duke, Burke went 17-for-25 against All-American Jake Naso with nine ground balls. After losing four of the first five draws in Durham, the Palm Beach, Fla., native rattled off wins in 16 of the next 20.
Burke and the Catamounts head out on the road this Wednesday to take on Penn State in their first midweek game of the season. Opening faceoff against the Nittany Lions is set for 3 p.m. from University Park.
