The UVM men's lacrosse team heads back out on the road for its first midweek contest of 2022 on Wednesday to take on Penn State in University Park.

The Catamounts erased a five-goal second-half deficit against Utah on Saturday but the Utes found the game-winner with under two minutes to play to defeat Vermont, 11-10.
David Closterman paced the offense with two goals and two assists while
Jackson Canfield picked up a team-high seven ground balls to go along with three caused turnovers.
Ryan Cornell made 11 saves in the cage.

McCONVEY ON WATCH
The Tewaaraton Foundation announced the 2022 Tewaaraton Award men's and women's Watch Lists Thursday evening. For the second straight season, midfielder
Thomas McConvey was named to the list. McConvey and teammate
Michael McCormack were both named last season – the first time for any Catamount since Ian MacKay.

BURKE NETS WEEKLY AWARD
Tommy Burke won 62-percent of his faceoffs over the first two games of the season to net America East Defensive Player of the Week honors. He's also picked up 11 ground balls on the young season.

SCOUTING THE NITTANY LIONS
Penn State enters Wednesday's matchup with a 1-1 record coming off a narrow loss of its own to Villanova last weekend. Jack Traynor leads the Nittany Lions with ten points through the first two games on eight goals and two assists while three more players come into action with at least six points. Hudson Bohn is 52.5% at the faceoff X so far this year while Aleric Fyock and Jack Fracyon have split time in cage.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Wednesday's meeting will be the fifth all-time between Vermont and Penn State and the first since 2015. The Nittany Lions are 4-0 against UVM in the prior four meetings. Two of the four games have been decided by two goals or less.
