COACH'S QUOTE
"Incredibly proud of the team for bouncing back today on the road against a tough Big Ten team," head coach
Chris Feifs said. "We pride ourselves on being able to respond to adversity and today we showed it."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cats jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead in the first quarter thanks to two of Liam Limoges' five goals on the afternoon and a single tally each from Charlie Pope and David Closterman.
- Penn State trimmed a 6-2 deficit to just two goals in the second quarter but the Cats scored three of the next four to take a 9-5 lead into the break.
- Closterman and Limoges each converted to start the second half and give UVM a 11-5 lead.
- The Nittany Lions trimmed the lead to 11-9 using a four-goal run with goals from four different players at the 4:29 mark of the third.
- It was all Vermont from there, however, as the Green and Gold scored the game's next five goals to put the game out of reach.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Limoges' five goals match a career-high for goals in a game that he set his rookie season against UMass Lowell (April 7, 2018).
- Brock Haley finished with five points - one shy of his career-high - on two goals and three assists.
- Closterman's goal at the 14:18 mark of the third quarter was the 100th point of his career.
