BOSTON – Charlie Pope's nice afternoon at Penn State netted him the first America East weekly award of his young career – he was named conference Rookie of the Week earlier this afternoon.

The first-year attackman scored two goals and added an assists in a 16-goal outburst for the Vermont offense in last week's win at Penn State. He now has three goals and two assists in the early going this year.
 
It's the first Rookie of the Week honor for any Catamount since David Closterman picked up his fourth weekly award back in 2019 (April 15) on his way to being named the league's Rookie of the Year.
 
Pope and the Catamounts head back out on the road this Saturday to take on Ivy League foe Brown in Providence, R.I. Faceoff is set for 12 p.m. down in the Ocean State.
