BOSTON –
Ryan Cornell and
Charlie Pope were both recognized with weekly conference awards, the league announced earlier today.
Pope picked up his second career weekly award with another Rookie of the Week selection while Cornell was named Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Cornell was rock-solid in cage for the Cats this week racking up 26 saves over the two games including a career-high 18 against UMass last Wednesday. He also stopped eight of nine shots against NJIT in the conference opener on Saturday. Cornell has a ridiculous 90-percent save percentage against the Highlanders in his career (18-for-20). His 9.71 goals against average this season is tops in the conference and 13
th nationally.
Pope picked up his second career honor thanks in large part to a solid day in his first career America East game on Saturday. He scored a goal and added a pair of assists against NJIT. The rookie from Maryland also dished out an assist against UMass. He now has seven goals and five assists on the season.
The Catamounts are back in action on Saturday with their final non-conference game of the season as Canisius comes to town for a noon faceoff on AmericaEast.TV.
