SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES
Stony Brook enters Saturday's matchup ranked No. 6 on the IWLCA National Poll, with wins in three-straight games. The Seawolves have registered two wins against ranked opponents this season, defeating No. 11 Florida 14-13 (Mar. 5) and No. 16 Johns Hopkins 16-5 (Mar. 13). Stony Brook was selected as unanimous favorites in the 2022 America East Preseason Poll, but were ruled ineligible for the league's playoffs. The Seawolves have the No. 4 scoring defense in the country, allowing only 8.29 goals per game. Stony Brook's offense is led by Ellie Masera, who has tallied 34 points (26 goals, 8 assists) through seven games this season. Masera ranks No. 14 in the country in goals per game (3.71), and No. 2 in America East.

Vermont owns a 5-14 all-time record against Stony Brook. The Seawolves have won six-straight meetings with the Catamounts. UVM last beat Stony Brook on April 26, 2014 with an 8-7 overtime victory in Burlington. Jessica Roach scored the deciding marker with 3:21 left in overtime to defeat the 15
th-ranked Seawolves. Vermont suffered a 19-8 loss to Stony Brook last season at Virtue Field.

The Catamounts won their sixth-straight game on Wednesday against Merrimack, matching the longest streak in program history. The program record was set in 1984.

CARRERA'S THIRD AWARD
UVM seniorÂ
Carolyn Carrera was named America East Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season on Monday (Mar. 21). Carrera recorded 14 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers in Vermont's two victories against Manhattan and UMass Lowell a week ago. The defender had a career-high nine ground balls and seven caused turnovers against Manhattan – her seven caused turnovers are the highest single-game total in Division I this season.
