BOSTON – For the first time this season and third time in his career,
Michael McCormack was named America East Player of the Week. The conference announced its weekly award recipients earlier Monday.

The senior attackman scored five goals and dished out three assists for a career-high eight points in Vermont's 23-9 win over UMass Lowell on Saturday. In three career games against the River Hawks, McCormack has scored 16 goals – the most by any active Catamount against UMass Lowell.
This season, the Williamstown, Mass. native is third on the team with 31 points and second with 25 goals. That mark is good for fourth in America East. In just two seasons at UVM, McCormack has 75 points.
The Catamounts are back in action on Saturday afternoon with a key America East matchup at rival UAlbany. Opening faceoff is set for 3 p.m. from New York's state capital.
