LAST TIME OUT
Vermont jumped out to a 14-0 lead over UMass Lowell midway through the second quarter and posted a dominant 23-9 victory Saturday night. The 23 goals matched a program record for goals against a Division I opponent which had happened twice before.
Michael McCormack paced the offense with five goals and three assists while
Liam Limoges scored four times and dished out three helpers. In total, four Catamounts had at least three goals.
Tommy Burke went 21-for-26 (80.7%) at the Faceoff X and
Ryan Cornell made nine saves while allowing just three goals.

McCORMACK PICKS UP WEEKLY HONORS
McCormack's big night in Lowell netted him America East Offensive Player of the Week honors for the third time in his career and first time this season. In three career games against UMass Lowell, the big lefty has 16 goals. McCormack's next score will be the 100
th of his career spread across time at Middlebury College and UVM.

CATS IN THE RANKINGS
UVM finds itself in the thick of the national rankings in a number of categories. The Cats rank fifth in the country in man-down defense killing penalties at a .771 clip and they rank sixth in caused turnovers per game (10.17). Vermont's scoring defense ranks third nationally giving up 8.92 goals per game. Individually,
Nick Alviti is ninth in the country in caused turnovers per game.
Ryan Cornell ranks third in goals against average and sixth in save percentage while
Tommy Burke sits fifth in faceoff winning percentage.

SCOUTING THE GREAT DANES
UAlbany enters this weekend's matchup with a 4-6 overall record and a 2-2 mark in league play. Last week, the Great Danes knocked off Syracuse 14-12 before dropping a 16-7 decision at UMBC to wrap up the weekend. Graydon Hogg leads UAlbany in scoring with 18 goals and nine assists this season while Thomas Decker is fresh off the conference's Rookie of the Week honor after scoring three times against the Orange. Will Ramos has started the last two games in cage for the Great Danes.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Saturday's meeting will be the 31
st all-time between the two rivals. UAlbany holds a 21-9 lead in the series but the Catamounts have won the last five including three last season. In the last meeting between UVM and UAlbany, the Cats claimed their first conference title with a 15-10 win last May in Baltimore. Vermont also picked up its first ever win in Albany last season.
